After having few recent failures from my external hard drives despite both of them being fairly new, I decided to go with LACIE USB3/Thunderbolt drive as my daily use as well as my backup drive at home so I went and purchased 2 of those sweet orange LACIEs for their great durability and shock resistant reputation.
I was also complaining about the speeds i ger from my USB drives and since my MacBook Pro is a late 2011 model I didn't have the option of using USB 3 and was only limited to USB 2 which left me wondering how long I will be tolerating the slowness of it specially with the increase in file sizes that are resulted from RAW files that I almost work on daily.
Here is the summary of the speed test i carried earlier comparing my Transcend USB 2 drive vs. the new LACIE Thunderbolt drive.
you can immediately notice the huge increase in READ/WRITE performance between both.
WRITE speed has improved more than 3.5 times and READ speed has improved more than 2.8 times which leaves me very content of the decision I made to go with Thunderbolt drives!
This place is merely a random collection of thoughts, events or ideas related to my journey in the photography world, I would also do a series of photoblogs where I showcase the before (original) image and the (after editing) version which I hope you find interesting :)
